Fab B'day!

The one bad thing about being a card designer is that if you don't have the time to design a card, it's next to impossible to go buy one.....out of just plain guilt. :-) 

My husbands B'day snuck up on me and with little time to plan a card, I HAD to make sure that I made one for him!! So, here's my attempt at his card using a new set! :-)

It's definitely masculine and you could use many different color combos to make this design work. :-)

LOVE the new brick wall embossing folder! (The bricks are much bigger than you think)

I made the sailfish shiny by applying Crystal Effects after cutting it out.

Lettuce Celebrate!

'Market Fresh' is one of my top picks for ordering and I set out to make something come together for the adorable head of lettuce! Who'd have thought you could make a head of lettuce cute enough to want to make a card with one?! Lol. Stampin'Up! obviously did! :-)

I played with the new DSP from Farmers Market and do love that paper pack!!

B'day Lobster!

My truly amazing husband turned another year older last weekend, and in my plans to surprise him with a family sunset cruise, and shopping for gifts, I almost forgot a card!! Yes, the memory gets a little slower each year. Lol. SO, I had to get busy designing a masculine card!

I gravitated to a 'sea' set....always cheerful and colorful....at least in my mind's eye, anyway. :-) 

Hope it inspires you to try some fun techniques with your cards!

So.....I dug in and used my newest stamp set AND a new In-Color! Soooo much fun!

'You've Got This' is a gorgeous stamp set and can be done in any color. I decided to be more basic with it and try using the new Tip Top Taupe. LOVE the color....of course it's pretty close to my all time favorite Crumb Cake, so it was pretty much expected that I'd love it! Lol. I think my Club ladies are shocked if I ever deign a card without using Crumb Cake somewhere on it. :-)

I just embossed the flower image with white embossing powder on vellum. 

The new Dotted Lace Trim is gorgeous and available in all the new In-Colors. 

I used the Honeycomb embossing folder, pearls and silver ribbon to finish it off. :-)

Super easy and classic! Hope you try it out and enjoy making as much as I enjoyed designing it!

Pucker Up!

Never hurts to dig out our retired stamps! :-) I really liked the lemons from the last Sale-A-Bration grouping and think I will use these quite often. Here's another card using a 'make-your-own' plaid print! This one I made using Crumb Cake as the background color and using the edge of the brayer to create the striping effects. :-) Fun! Fun!

I created the lemon's color texture by coloring with three shades of  Stampin' Write yellow markers on an acrylic block, spritzing it with water and stamping the block onto Whisper White card stock. Then the lemons were stamped over the color texture. Super easy and fun!

I used Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Basic Black and Mossy Meadow to create this card.

Under the Sea!

LOVE this adorable stamp set! SO GLAD it's not retiring yet!!

The wonderful ladies in my Card Club had some fun making this card! The background is soooo easy and everyone's turned out beautiful and uniquely different! Just dauber your favorite colors together all over the whisper white card stock. When done, just spritz with some water and watch your colors 'bleach out' before your eyes! Don't forget the Crystal Effects to make your octopus look slimy! :-)

Used the banner punch to create a fun border around the center circle!

Need a baby card? This is an easy design and can be done in any color!! :-) Use any DSP and embossing folders......or make your own DSP, as my Card Club got to do with this card design! :-) All it takes is a brayer and some ink pads! :-)

Halloween Mini Card!

I love designing 3 x 3 cards! They are great for attaching to gifts and using as hang tags. Stampin' Up sells the perfect size envelope for them too! Great to make ahead for all those special occasions. With Halloween coming up, and needing to come up with something for my co-workers, I'm thinking a bag of goodies tied with some ribbon and the following card hanging from the baggie.....YOU could use it to attach to a bottle of BOOS! :-)

Starfish & Twine

I don't know when I'd make time to stamp, if it wasn't for my Card Club group! So, Ladies....Thank you for making it important for me to carve out some time to prepare new card designs for you! :-)

Our move is done, the kids are about to start back to school and sports activities, there's still multiple projects to do in the house, but things are moving along! Hoping to be more regular in sharing cards here as I find a routine again. Lol.

Hoping everyone has had a wonderful Summer so far! I love the beach, and so any stamp sets that reminds me of it, I'm usually crazy over it! You all might be tired of this one already as I've used it multiple times.....but it's so usable!! :-)

Okay, when the new catalog came out, this set was a MUST HAVE based on cuteness! :-)

Had so much fun playing around in designing this card.....it went in several different directions at first, that eventually became this. :-) Does ya'lls stamping area look like a bomb went off on it while you are creating?

Mine does! I lose stuff in the piles it sometimes gets so bad! :-)
