Thinking of You!

The old and the new.....I went looking for a bold flower to put in this new jar, and it took me to my retired stamps...to a favorite old hostess set from last catalog! Maybe you have it? :-)

"Jar of Love" is a wonderful new stamp set that I just got around to stamping with! Can't wait to try out all the other sizes of jars and pieces to this set. As you all have probably noticed, I have a hard time sticking to just one set when creating. :-)
I start with a pile of stamp sets and then see where they take me. :-)

I used the chalk board paper too....better late than never! :-)

The 'rosette' was done using the lace ribbon and just twisting and wrapping it around on itself. Pretty easy!

The background was made using the Hardwood background stamp and then embossing with the brick embossing folder.

Made of Wonderful

'Tuscan Vineyard' is one of my favorite stamp sets out of the new catalog! I keep getting drawn to it, so I hope I don't bore you with all the card designs using this set! :-)

This card was fun to develop pulling so many colors together. All the great die cuts that Stampin' Up offer make it so much fun....and easier! :-)

Soft Sky, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White were the focus colors for this design. The scenic image was colored using blender pens. Remember to use Stazon ink when stamping your image if you are going to color with your inks/blender pens.,,,it prevents the black ink from running as you apply the color to your paper. I used my Whisper White paper, so don't feel like you have to use watercolor paper when coloring with blender pens. :-)

This was another card I taught at a workshop....it was great to see how differently the ladies colored their scenes....even with everyone using the same colors!! That's the neatest part for me, to see how everyone individualizes their own card! :-)

Hope this gives you some new ideas for your own creations!

Don't you agree?! :-) Stampin' Up hit a home run with this stamp set! 'Sweet Cupcake' is a 3 step stamping set that allows you to have fun with color......and of course I had to try out another combination with this set! I grabbed a bunch of yellows and decided to pair it with purple.
This was a fun card taught at my recent workshop....had a great group of ladies!! :-)

Oh, Those Scraps!!

How many of you start cards and they just aren't flowing like you thought, or you have leftover pieces or scraps that you can't throw away so you toss them in a box for later on? :-)  I do! LoL!

Well, here's a challenge for you! :-) Dig out that box of scraps and stamped images and make a card out of the odds and ends you haven't used! I FORCED myself to do it the other day and it was quite the challenge for me! And now, I have a few less odds and ends! :-) Yeah!!

Here's what I came up with. Now, have fun with your challenge! :-)
I'd love to see what you come up with! Send in pictures of your scrap challenge, and I'll post them on my blog as more inspiration for others! :-) Get your pictures to me by September 10th and I'll do a special post that following week to showcase them! You can find my e-mail address at this link: http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/stamp2create/contactme  Don't forget to include your name, and if you have a blog, your address as well, so I can share who created each card!
Thank you for being willing to share your ideas with others!

Vineyard!

There's some beautiful countryside around Charlottesville, full of vineyards....if you've not made the trip, it's a great one to plan! Lots of wineries! :-) It is a beautiful and fun way to spend a day or a weekend!

This stamp set, called 'Tuscan Vineyard' reminds me of the area. It's a wonderful set! You'll enjoy the many options it offers.

I've made the following card using a single color for the stamped image and then again with multiple colors using Stamp'in Write markers. As you can see, it creates two very different looks.....and one way is much less labor intensive than the other!  :-)

Hope you get to the wineries soon! :-) In the meantime.....stamp to your hearts content!

Beary Love!

I've stamped this bear in many different colors trying to find a different color combination I like....and so decided to try it in white.

I started with Crumb Cake as my base and used Whisper White first, then used grays as the next two layers.  It's not my favorite, but it's certainly different, so decided to build a card around it, going for a brighter color to pop it a little.

Hope this inspires you to play with your ink colors and find your favorite combinations!

Journey

For those of us married folk....we know very well how marriage is a journey! It's two imperfect people forging this journey of life together! If we focus on the imperfections in each other, we won't get very far.....but if we focus instead on the internal beauty of each other and how we can make each other's life better....it's going to be an amazing journey!!
Right?!

I made this card as a Bridal Shower card for a family member getting married in August! She's just graduated Nursing school and has her whole life ahead of her. She's blessed to have found the man she wants to spend that life with. Wishing her all the joy that marriage can bring the two of them!

This card design was based on her wedding invite colors....it would be fun to do in any color combination a bride chooses! I added some pearls and some subtle glitter (not easily seen in the picture) and had a blast using the new Flourish die cuts!! Don't you want them now?! 😊
